About The Position

The Engineering Technician I provides entry-level technical support for engineering, testing, manufacturing, and product development activities. The role contributes to organizational objectives by assisting with equipment setup, product testing, documentation, and assembly activities. Working under close supervision, the technician develops technical skills and knowledge of HVAC systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering standards. The position supports product quality, innovation, and operational excellence while building technical expertise. The work is performed primarily in laboratory, manufacturing, and testing environments, with regular exposure to production equipment, HVAC systems, and testing equipment. Conditions may include noise, temperature variations, dust, and other industrial conditions. The role involves frequent interaction with engineers, technicians, and production personnel. Personal protective equipment is used as required. This is classified as a Safety Sensitive Position, requiring compliance with safety protocols and company policies.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED with technical coursework, certification, or training in HVAC, electronics, manufacturing technology, mechanical systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
0+ years of experience in a technical, manufacturing, or engineering support role.
Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and verbal directions.
Familiarity with hand tools, measurement devices, and basic testing equipment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to learn new technologies, processes, and equipment.
Ability to follow technical instructions and perform routine tasks accurately.
Ability to identify and communicate basic issues or discrepancies.
Manual dexterity for handling tools, equipment, and small components.
Visual acuity for inspecting parts, assemblies, and test results.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to work safely around machinery, equipment, and testing systems.

Responsibilities

Assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of testing equipment and laboratory systems.
Support assembly of HVAC components, prototypes, and test fixtures according to established procedures and instructions.
Record test data accurately and maintain technical documentation and records.
Assist engineering and technical staff with product testing, inspections, and validation activities.
Perform routine measurements, inspections, and evaluations using basic testing and measurement equipment.
Support troubleshooting efforts by gathering data and assisting with problem identification.
Follow engineering procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards during all activities.
Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean and organized manner.
Assist with prototype builds and engineering evaluations.
Support inventory management of lab supplies, tools, and test equipment.
Participate in technical training and development opportunities.
Assist with preparation of reports, documentation, and engineering records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
