As an R&D Engineering Intern, your role is focused on driving the design, development, and integration of groundbreaking technologies. Requirements
- Must graduate between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028
- Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering
- Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 17th – August 6th OR May 24th – August 13th
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the Maple Grove, MN (Arbor Lakes) Boston Scientific Corporate location
- Experience collaborating on an engineering project in school or in a professional environment
Nice To Haves
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and time management skills
- Biomedical or anatomy experience and/or aptitude
- Basic understanding of design controls and risk management within the medical device industry
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of medical devices, conducting feasibility studies, developing prototypes, and performing testing and validation.
- Support investigations into failure modes, perform root cause analyses, and develop solutions to address technical challenges. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, process development, quality, marketing, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs, to ensure successful project execution.
- Prepare and review engineering documentation, including technical reports, design history files, and regulatory submissions. Present project updates and technical insights to engineers and managers.
