About The Position

The Fall R&D Engineering Co-op is a paid, 16-week rotation in Research and Development Engineering at Cook Polymer Technology in Bloomington, Indiana. Co-op participants work on meaningful projects in the medical device manufacturing industry and gain real-world experience. Each position has a direct mentor. The experience also includes a capstone presentation and learning events.

Requirements

Candidates must be students entering their junior or senior year in the following fall semester, entering graduate school, or graduates of the spring semester immediately preceding the co-op.
Candidates must provide proof of enrollment, including pre-registration certification for the following fall, for consideration.
Candidates should have an interest in a career in the life sciences field, willingness to take initiative, and ability to work well with others.
Effective communication skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent situations with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.

Responsibilities

Use engineering knowledge to produce project deliverables and documents.
Follow the Quality Management System (QMS) and its processes to meet FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Maintain all training requirements and seek opportunities for continuous development and growth.
Work and interact effectively and professionally with people throughout various levels of the global organization.
Strictly adhere to safety requirements.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Meet company quality and quantity standards.
Communicate effectively and work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision.
