About The Position

In this role as R&D Engineer, Mechanical, you will focus primarily on application of structural mechanics to the development and maintenance of superconducting MRI magnet products and technologies. Your role: Perform detailed mechanical design and analysis for superconducting MRI magnet systems, including cryogenic vessels, coil and component support structures. Develop and validate structural models for static and dynamic loading conditions using advanced engineering analysis methods to assess stresses and meet allowable material limits. Execute product development activities including requirements management, FMEA, risk mitigation, prototype development, verification, validation and documentation of design inputs/outputs. Collaborate with external vendors and internal manufacturing teams on prototype fabrication, industrialization and qualification activities to implement new designs. Investigate and resolve field-related structural issues while contributing to cross-functional R&D teams throughout all phases of product development.
