Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) is dedicated to accelerating the transition to fusion energy by designing and building commercially viable fusion power plants. We are seeking a motivated R&D Engineer to join our NINT Magnet R&D team. This role is crucial for testing and mitigating risks associated with CFS's NINT (non-insulated-non-twisted) HTS magnets. Responsibilities include executing development test campaigns for next-generation NINT magnet technology, leading Corrective and Preventive Action (RCCA) efforts to resolve issues with SPARC NINT magnets, and supporting tokamak integration and commissioning. The role is inherently multidisciplinary, requiring seamless collaboration across mechanical, electrical, materials, fluids, and systems engineering. The R&D engineer will be expected to challenge requirements, risks, and test objectives to ensure essential data is collected for successful outcomes.
