About The Position

As the R&D Engineer, you will provide engineering support and technical guidance to material, product, and process development programs. This role involves conducting engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes, and/or procedures, and participating significantly in projects to optimize and improve existing ones. You will contribute to project plan development, execution, and reporting, devise basic research methods, and document results and procedures. The role requires operating process and test equipment with an understanding of functionality based on underlying engineering principles, and exercising responsibility for specific pieces of processing and/or analytical equipment. Collaboration with the Operations and Commercial sectors, participation in the company’s safety culture and continuous improvement efforts, and undertaking further training to improve skills are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science preferred or related Engineering field.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant industry experience, which may include internship, co-op, or other applicable hands-on experience.
  • Sound knowledge of mathematics, statistics, engineering science and ceramic processing.
  • Knowledge of ceramic materials and processing.
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands on oxide ceramic materials formulation and processing experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities
