  • Masters degree and 6+ years of related experience or PhD and 3+ years of related experience
  • Analog circuit design
  • CMOS device operating regions & characteristics
  • Common circuit topologies used in CMOS analog circuits, particularly in circuits running at 1 GHz and above
  • Analog circuit design trade-offs and parameters (e.g. noise & distortion, frequency-response, mismatch, bandwidth, stability or settling limitations)
  • Signal processing in analog filters, analog to digital converters, digital to analog converters and feedback controlled loops
  • Simulation tools, custom layout tools and common lab equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer or similar)

Nice To Haves

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the specific ability to speak to various technical and management levels.
  • Proactive, collaborative and creative approach to innovation, technical development and consensus facilitation to influence optimal project results.
  • Excellent time and task management, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Research and apply cutting edge design and validation for analog/mixed-signal integrated circuits for high-speed Serial link applications such as: fiber optic communication systems, Gigabit Ethernet (GE), enterprise storage and wireless network routers.
  • Research novel circuit techniques to achieve maximum speed and performance, while minimizing the power and area requirements.
  • Design, develop, modify and evaluate electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
  • Determine design approaches and parameters.
  • Analyze equipment to establish operating data; conduct experimental tests and evaluate results.
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
  • Layout/design work in a non-ASIC product environment.
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Exercise judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
  • Characterize and debug analog designs for manufacturability.
  • Create circuit models to define package and pc board requirements.
  • Develop circuit test plans of testing.
  • Understand system level architectural design of broadband communication SoCs.
