About The Position

Keysight Technologies, a leading test and measurement equipment manufacturer, has an outstanding research and development position available for an electrical engineering major graduating in December 2026 or May 2027, with a strong preference for December 2026 graduates. This role is located in Budd Lake, NJ, at Keysight's Electronic Industrial Solutions Group, which focuses on the design, manufacture, and marketing of power supply solutions. These products include multi-kilowatt switching supplies, AC sources, regenerative power solutions, solar array simulators, and AC grid emulators. The position offers the opportunity to work with experienced staff and advanced measurement and simulation tools on hardware-based designs for new programmable power supplies.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering – graduation must be completed by December 2026 or May 2027, with a strong preference for December 2026 graduates.
  • Ability to work daily on-site in Budd Lake, NJ.
  • At least one undergraduate class completed in power electronics and control systems.
  • A strong fundamental skill set in continuous and discrete signals and systems.
  • Analog design skills, including experience in both time and frequency domain measurements.
  • Familiarity with power supplies and electronic measurement devices.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple design domains including firmware, gateware, analog and digital hardware interfaces.
  • Only candidates that can legally work in the US on a continuous basis without any type of sponsorship will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong interest and skill set in power electronics, switching converter design, analog design, control systems, digital signal processing, and embedded programming.
  • HDL skills.
  • Exposure to power electronics and switching converter design as it relates to power supply design and regenerative grid technologies.
  • Exposure to analog control design through dedicated coursework; digital control design experience is a plus.
  • Course exposure to digital signal processing (DSP), ideally with HDL skills.
  • Ability to model systems in Matlab and circuit simulator tools like Saber.
  • Experience coding, simulating, testing, and debugging HDL designs.
  • Strong Python programming skills. Be able to create code that is clear, efficient, maintainable, and well documented.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a mentor on hardware-based designs for new Keysight programmable power supplies.
  • Regularly use advanced measurement and simulation tools.
  • Learn from experienced staff members.
