About The Position

The R&D Chemist assists with product development and formula enhancement based on market needs and quality standards. The role supports the Manager of R&D with customer service and technical support and assists the QC Supervisor with ISO management system tasks. The position also works with and maintains Quality Systems.

Requirements

BS/BA degree in Chemistry, Life or Physical Sciences, or Engineering.
At least 3 years of experience in a product development laboratory.
Ability to effectively conduct informational training.
Familiarity with laboratory and analytical equipment and techniques.
PC skills for gathering and processing data and assembling and presenting reports.
Familiarity with developing and maintaining quality systems.
Able to perform the stated physical duties, including regularly lifting or moving up to 50 pounds; a team lift is required for items over 55 pounds.
Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

Experience with industrial lubricants is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Augment the current product line at the direction of the Manager of R&D.
Assist in developing, improving, and performance-testing the current product line.
Design and execute experiments, then analyze and interpret data to guide product development decisions.
Keep detailed records of laboratory activities.
Assemble and operate new equipment to develop products, monitor quality, and develop techniques.
Assist the QC Supervisor with ISO management system support.
Make pilot plant batches.
Verify calibration of laboratory equipment.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work with and maintain Quality Systems.
