About The Position

This position involves a variety of laboring activities, including lubricating, shoveling, sweeping, steam cleaning, painting, tire work, mechanical assistance, and lifting, pushing, and pulling various objects and raking. Work will be performed per the plant foreman's instruction, free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs. The role requires maintaining the aggregate crusher, washer, and surrounding environment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Responsibilities include communicating production issues to a supervisor or lead person, performing strenuous work in varying weather conditions, and being willing to travel and work away from home when required. The position also requires reporting to work at the designated start time, working nights and weekends when necessary, and working overtime when required. Other duties may be assigned per supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work various shifts (days, nights, swings).
  • Must be able to pass physical fitness and agility test.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year related experience is preferred.
