About The Position

This position directly reports to the various quarry supervisors. All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are followed and individual works as a team member. Primary responsibilities include assisting in production functions and maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • 3 year experience mechanical maintenance experience required
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work all shifts including weekends as needed.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Nice To Haves

  • Field of Study Preferred: Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Diesel Technology, or a related technical trade.
  • welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by PRODUCTION
  • Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times
  • Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist as needed to improve EHS
  • Ensure all work areas and equipment are clean, tidy and organized at all times
  • Trains and coaches other employees when needed
  • Utilizes mobile equipment including, but not limited to: Haul truck up to and including 90 ton Grader, Track dozer, Blast hole driller, Front end loader (962G, 980, 988,IT28, 992G 992)
  • Other duties as assigned on various shifts/schedules
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
  • Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety policies to assure that environmental, health and safety are the first priority.
  • Communicates effectively and timely with staff.
  • Performs other duties as time permits or as assigned.

Benefits

  • Task Premiums: Extra $1.00/hr for Faceloading/Drill or $1.25/hr for Maintenance/Dock work
  • Shift Differential: Additional $0.60/hr (2nd shift) or $0.50/hr (3rd shift)
  • Immediate PTO: Starts with 32 hours (4 days) of personal time; unused hours cash out 12/31
  • Double-Time Pay: Weekend hours (Saturdays & Sundays) paid at $2 times$.
  • 401(k) Matching: $1-for-$1 match on first 3%, $0.50-on-the-dollar on next 3%, plus company core contribution.
