We are seeking a Quantum Research Scientist - Remote - to lead the remote development of quantum operations for the next generation of QCCD trapped-ion quantum computers. The perfect candidate will have intimate knowledge of one or more advanced laboratory techniques for controlling systems of qubits, quantum spin systems, or cold and trapped atomic systems, including precision laser spectroscopy, low noise DC and RF electronics, cryogenic UHV systems, or computer control systems. They will use this expertise, along with excellent software, data analysis, and troubleshooting skills, to lead the development of new quantum operations for next generation of quantum computers and implement advanced remote automation routines to improve runtime and throughput of testbeds and commercial hardware. They will also have excellent communication and collaboration skills compatible with working remotely with an onsite team of technicians, engineers, and other scientists to develop new QCCD system architectures, designs and concept of operations.
