VP, Quantitative Research Analyst - Credit, Execution Research and Advisory

GIC Private Limited•New York, NY
•$173,000 - $245,000•Hybrid

About The Position

GIC is seeking a Vice President-level Quantitative Research Analyst to lead Execution Research & Advisory’s (ERA) credit coverage from New York. ERA is a global team of market-structure specialists based in Singapore and New York, conducting multi-asset quantitative research focused on market microstructure and liquidity modeling to improve execution outcomes and systematize decision-making. The role reports to the Head of ERA and informs execution across GIC’s global fixed-income mandates. The successful candidate will set the direction for credit research as well as deliver it: identifying high-value problems, translating ambiguous business questions into tractable research, managing stakeholder relationships, and steering the credit research agenda within a cross-asset team. The role works closely with traders and portfolio managers and contributes to a proprietary execution analytics platform by proposing models, metrics, and datasets and working with developers to put them into production. The position is based in a flexible office environment. Teams work in the office four days per week and may choose which days to work from home, with adjustments as situational needs arise. Compensation comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range is $173,000 to $245,000; bonuses may form a meaningful portion of total pay and are based on company and individual performance.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in a quantitative research or markets role covering credit or broader fixed income, such as researcher, quantitative analyst, trader, or portfolio manager.
  • Experience taking research from problem formulation through to application.
  • Knowledge of credit market structure, including dealer intermediation and balance-sheet constraints, RFQ and all-to-all protocols, portfolio trading, ETF-driven liquidity, and credit liquidity under stress.
  • Familiarity with credit data such as TRACE, consolidated tapes, evaluated pricing, dealer inventory indications, and quote data, including a realistic understanding of data limitations.
  • Experience with fixed-income transaction cost analysis (TCA).
  • Practical understanding of where machine learning and AI add value in execution research and decision support, and where simpler, more interpretable methods are preferable.
  • Ability to scope ill-defined problems into deliverable research, allocate limited research effort to high-value opportunities, and explain complex analysis precisely to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with rates or FX market structure.
  • Experience with kdb+/q and Databricks.
  • Experience representing a research team to dealers, trading platforms, and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead GIC’s credit execution research agenda and set a multi-phase roadmap covering market impact and liquidity modeling, counterparty and platform selection, portfolio trading, protocol choice, and transaction cost analysis (TCA).
  • Translate the research roadmap into prioritized projects with clear measures of success.
  • Apply advanced quantitative methods to high-granularity trade and quote data, following a disciplined research process to produce robust outcomes.
  • Serve as ERA’s primary stakeholder lead for credit execution questions from traders and portfolio managers; manage relationships, shape research priorities, and make prioritization decisions within ERA’s broader objectives.
  • Guide the credit research roadmap for the proprietary execution analytics platform by proposing models, metrics, and datasets, working with developers to deploy them into production, and turning one-off answers into reusable capabilities.
  • Represent ERA’s credit research externally and maintain a view across peer institutions, dealers, trading platforms, vendors, and academic literature; track market developments and apply relevant insights.
  • Strengthen research quality across the wider team by reviewing code and methodology and contributing to research discussions.
  • Make credit insights transferable to rates, FX, and listed markets through shared research frameworks.

Benefits

  • Flexible arrangement allowing teams to choose which four days per week they work in the office and work from home on other days, with adjustments as situational needs arise.
  • Competitive compensation comprising base pay and performance-based bonus.
