The purpose of the role is to provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain. This involves applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modeling, and technology to optimize trading and investment opportunities. The role requires developing and implementing quantitative models and strategies to gain insight into market trends, optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets. It also involves working closely with sales teams to understand client needs and develop customized solutions, conducting in-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modeling, and providing front-office infrastructure support through ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries. Additionally, the role requires providing expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to foster innovation within the trading environment. As a Vice President, the individual will contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change. This includes planning resources, budgets, and policies; managing and maintaining policies/processes; delivering continuous improvements; and escalating breaches of policies/procedures. If managing a team, the VP will define jobs and responsibilities, plan for the department’s future needs and operations, counsel employees on performance, and contribute to employee pay decisions. They may also lead specialists to influence department operations, aligning with strategic and tactical priorities, balancing short and long-term goals, and ensuring budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements. For an individual contributor, the VP will be a subject matter expert, guiding technical direction, leading collaborative assignments, and training/coaching less experienced specialists. The role involves advising key stakeholders, managing and mitigating risks, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of organizational functions, collaborating with other areas, creating solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, and building trusting relationships with stakeholders.
