About The Position

The Quant Trading Associate (QTA) role is an entry-level position within Chicago Trading Company's (CTC) Trading and Quant organization. This role offers broad exposure to the entire business, with the goal of progressing from the Associate Program to a role as a Quant Trader or Quant Researcher. As a QTA, you will work in a high-impact role on a trading or quantitative team, identifying trading opportunities and contributing through dynamic problem-solving. This includes trade execution, strategy formulation, back-testing, data analysis, and the modeling and pricing of financial derivatives. You will communicate with traders, risk managers, software engineers, and quants throughout the trading day, learning all aspects of the trading and quant operation. The ultimate goal is to move into a role that generates trading revenue or drives strategy development. The role also includes exposure to technology through a combined trading and technology curriculum. CTC encourages competitiveness and collaboration, aiming for collective success as one team.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. All majors and concentrations welcome.
  • You will graduate between December 2026-June 2027
  • A demonstrated record of success (academics, awards, etc.)
  • You are willing to relocate to Chicago, IL
  • Basic programming skills or a willingness to learn Python
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
  • You can effectively communicate sophisticated ideas both written and verbally
  • You're intellectually curious and like to challenge the status quo
  • An aspiration to collaborate with traders, quants, developers, and other experts to further CTC's goal of providing world class liquidity to financial markets
  • You love solving complex problems
  • A competitive drive and are a highly motivated individual that only gets stronger as part of a collaborative team
