About The Position

Werk Brau Co Inc is seeking a Full Time Quality Weld Inspector for their facility in Findlay, OH. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality of welded products through visual inspections, testing, and adherence to specifications. The inspector will interpret welding procedures, identify defects, measure dimensions, and document all quality assurance activities. This position also involves providing training and oversight to other team members and communicating any quality issues to management.

Requirements

  • Ability to move supplies/equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Detail Oriented
  • Able to read, understand and interpret work orders, blueprints/drawings, quality procedures, tolerance per standards and specifications and familiar with welding symbols.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to work night shift
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen (including marijuana) due to the safety sensitive nature of the workplace, including the operation of heavy machinery, powered equipment, overhead cranes, and powered industrial trucks. A strict zero tolerance standard regarding drugs, including marijuana, is required. Impairment or residual effects pose unacceptable risks in a manufacturing environment where alertness, coordination, and sound judgment are essential for workplace safety.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret Welding Procedure Specifications, Procedure Qualification Records, and welder qualification variables.
  • Perform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs.
  • Inspect weld jobs for defects such as cracks, porosity, and undercut.
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Have knowledge of the calibration of welding & testing equipment.
  • Review all welded products or components and provide input on acceptance or rejection.
  • Document and communicate non-conforming items to designated project supervision, and follow up until close out.
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities to management.
  • Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, testing, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
  • Provide training and limited oversight to other team members.
  • Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Other various duties as assigned.
