About The Position

FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build to print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. This position is responsible for performing various functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations. This includes visual and dimensional inspections as defined by Standard Operating Procedures for customer first article preparation, cost of quality, and related quality operations metrics. The role utilizes sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate data for assessing and documenting quality assurance and control processes (e.g., SPC, GR&R, and POR). The technician will collect, synthesize, and publish key quality operational metrics (e.g., COPQ, QPPM, RMA, DMR, NC). They may also assist Quality or Manufacturing Engineering in developing methods and procedures for quality assurance and control, and work with engineers and subject matter experts to conduct process assessments.

Requirements

  • 2- or 4-year degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years in Quality Control or Quality Assurance related role, preferably in a manufacturing related industry
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T
  • Basic knowledge to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Knowledge and use of precision testing equipment and tools (caliper, micrometer, pin gage, profilometer)
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio is essential
  • Ability to communicate clearly at various levels of the organization, with suppliers and customers
  • Teamwork orientation is essential in this role

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus (Epicor, Vantage, Oracle, SAP)

Responsibilities

  • Focus on accuracy and detail to meet company quality standards
  • Prepare, publish and submit Customer First Article Reports
  • Complete regular Quality Operation Metric Reports to management for review
  • Complete AQL sampling or 100% inspection and maintain complete and accurate inspection reports as required
  • Utilize various measuring equipment to measure and collect data to determine component acceptance
  • Generate Nonconformance or Discrepant Material Reports to record and control all nonconforming material
