About The Position
Performs functions to assure dimensional integrity of new and existing elastomeric parts. Maintains a variety of related reports and records to provide to the company’s customers. Assists in performing clerical duties, including answering the phones.
Requirements
- Two years of related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Skilled at staying organized, multitasking, and planning workload.
- Great communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working for a manufacturer of elastomeric materials (preferred).
- Associates Degree (preferred).
- Experience supervising and/or training other employees (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze customer blueprints and/or other drawings of parts.
- Set up and operate Micro-Vu and other measuring equipment required to perform dimensional inspection and reports.
- Set-up and perform dimensional inspection; process and maintain initial sample inspection reports, PPAPs, and material certification requests.
- Prepare submission packets including capability studies, process flow diagrams, control plans, gauge repeatability, reliability studies, and failure mode effectiveness reports as required.
- Interface and maintain favorable relationships with customers.
- Maintain calibration records - calibrations are conducted at least four times per year and required preparation for the calibration team.
- Evaluate SPC areas regarding statistics; perform capability studies and interpret histogram distribution.
- Audit and enter data regarding revision levels of active parts and prints.
- Measure molds and products to ensure they meet customer specifications before molds are transported elsewhere.
- Maintain part files.
- Plan, layout, and assign work for employees, according to schedule and individual skills and abilities for most efficient quality operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement by providing ideas and suggestions that would improve cost-effectiveness, enhance general working conditions, and ensure safe working conditions.
- Train new employees on safety and other issues on an as-needed basis.
- Interpret, implement, and help to enforce employee compliance with policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
