About The Position

The Quality Technician is responsible for setting up and calibrating specialized measuring equipment using Metrology methods. This role involves inspecting, measuring, and testing purchased materials, components, and products, as well as analyzing processes, materials, and products. The technician will perform lab tests, record data, and plan inspection and testing workloads. Key duties include analyzing non-conforming materials, informing production supervision of correct dimensions, preparing reports, and maintaining product integrity instructions. The position requires interfacing with various manufacturing personnel, training and mentoring Quality Inspectors, assisting engineering on special projects, and communicating with customers and suppliers regarding issues. The technician will also troubleshoot and generate corrective actions, complete R&R and Capability Studies, interpret blueprints, conduct internal audits, maintain CAR and SCAR logs, and provide ISO support, including leading or participating in ISO audits.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Set up measuring techniques on special equipment using the Metrology methods required.
  • Understand and implement effective calibration to corresponding measuring equipment.
  • Inspect, measure, and test purchased materials. Accept or reject, as required by inspection plan.
  • Inspect, measure and test components and products, as required.
  • Make analysis of processes, materials and products.
  • Perform lab tests, accumulate and record data.
  • Plan the inspection and testing necessary for the workload.
  • Analyze non-conforming materials and products for cause.
  • Inform production supervision of correct dimensions for products and machine set ups as directed.
  • Prepare reports, record data, keep and maintain pertinent filed, etc.
  • Perform any other duties, related in nature that may be required.
  • Create and maintain written instructions for product integrity.
  • Interface with manufacturing on issues, which could include operators, supervisors, managers, engineers, and sales.
  • Train, mentor, and guide Quality Inspectors as necessary.
  • Assist and support engineering and manufacturing on special projects.
  • Communication with customers and suppliers reviewing issues as necessary.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and generate corrective action to prevent recurring defects.
  • Complete R&R and Capability Studies as required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Complete internal audits and lead or assign corrective actions, as necessary.
  • Maintain CAR and SCAR log as pertaining to customer and internal requests.
  • Provide ISO support to quality compliance.
  • Leads and/or participates in ISO audits.
