About The Position

The Quality Technician will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL reporting to the Quality Supervisor. This role involves performing dosimetry measurements and daily dose lab activities, conducting microbiological testing, and performing environmental monitoring. The technician will also assist with Corrective Action investigations, address environmental excursions, and identify/escalate/investigate alert/OOS results. A key part of the role is creating and maintaining accurate laboratory records and documentation following Good Documentation Practices (GDP). The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, and basic computer proficiency. Familiarity with LIMS is a plus. The role requires the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and comprehend moderately complex procedures. Critical thinking, troubleshooting, and data interpretation skills are essential. Knowledge of GLP, GMP, USP, ISO, and other regulatory standards is beneficial. The technician will work under minimal supervision once fully trained.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, technical training, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Good handwriting required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to move between tasks efficiently.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross functional teams.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to think critically, troubleshoot problems and interpret test data independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Microbiology or related field).
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management system (LIMS) a plus.
  • Knowledge of GLP, GMP, USP, ISO and other regulatory standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dosimetry measurements and daily dose lab activities (releasing, pairing, delivery of dose trays, report generation, cleaning).
  • Conduct microbiological testing including bioburden, endotoxin, and media assessments.
  • Perform environmental monitoring using viable air samplers and other advanced lab equipment.
  • Assist with Corrective Action investigations.
  • Address environmental excursions that occur in controlled environments.
  • Identify, escalate and investigate alert/OOS results related but not limited to dosimetry, microbial testing and environmental monitoring.
  • Create and maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and documentation, following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Use whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages for calculations.
  • Read and comprehend moderately complex procedures and work instructions.
  • Think critically, troubleshoot problems and interpret test data independently.
