About The Position

Vital Farms is seeking a Quality Technician to join their team. This role requires a general understanding of laboratory testing procedures, sanitation policies, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The technician will follow all regulatory, food safety, and quality requirements. The position operates on a 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour day shifts from 6 am to 6 pm.

Requirements

• 1 year of quality experience in production/manufacturing.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Handwriting must be neat and legible.
• Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 60lbs.
• Must have ability to understand and operate lab equipment and generate complete/accurate records.
• Must be able to work without direct supervision.
• Must have/develop a working knowledge of computers.
• Must also adhere to all Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice policies.
• Must perform testing in a timely manner to prevent production line downtime/processing delays.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical testing on raw eggs and finished product.
• Utilize test results for products for packaging in accordance with customer or company specifications.
• Train new technicians.
• Perform calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
• Manage inventory and ordering of lab supplies and replacement parts.
• Maintain general housekeeping.
• Follow safety policies and maintain GMPs.
• Manage hand washing station (soap dispensing and inventory) and footbaths.
• Manage chemical inventory, dispense, track utilization, and replace chemicals as needed.
• Verify and maintain pH levels on wash tanks.
• Manage & Run CIP circuits.
• Titrate chemicals on egg and flat washer.
• Maintain egg waste, spills, and clean ups while adhering to plant cleanliness policies.
• Record and document corrective actions.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Perform audits of inbound, outbound, raw materials, and other processes as assigned.
