Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills required: Accounting Software; Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with analytical equipment such as balances, mechanical test equipment, and chromatography is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and control charting desirable

Responsibilities

  • Assures all job activities adhere to company Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements.
  • Ensuring all samples processed through the QC lab are handled and tested safely, precisely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Submits written and verbal responses to out-of-control test results and escalates when appropriate.
  • Adopts and follows Aspen’s core values of Safety, Quality, Integrity, Teamwork, Customer Focus, and Innovation.
  • Conducts all various assigned testing procedures, including: incoming raw materials (e.g., batting inspections), in-process materials (e.g., mechanical testing of blankets), finished products.
  • Prepares chemical solutions and standards according to defined formulas.
  • Records test results in spreadsheets and designated forms.
  • Performs quality control checks on laboratory instruments and equipment and identifies mechanical issues.
  • Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and troubleshoots malfunctions as needed.
  • Escalates calibration and repair needs for instruments to the designated responsible individual.
  • Monitors supply inventory and request additional supplies to ensure uninterrupted lab operations.
  • Maintains all testing records in SQC Pack and other specialized laboratory software.
  • Accurately enters complete data records into the electronic data management system.
  • Ensures proper documentation and traceability for all assigned work.
  • Maintains good housekeeping standards in the laboratory and work environment.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating strong self-motivation.
  • Cooperate with other personnel to support departmental and interdepartmental objectives and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned or requested.
  • Supports management with other related tasks as needed.
