About The Position

The Quality Technician is responsible for developing and maintaining company inspection reports, inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards, and ensuring compliance with company standards and Federal and State law. This role also ensures that test equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.

Requirements

  • Honest, reliable, and conscientious.
  • Comprehension of high school math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Ability to perform computer work.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel, Word, e-mail, and E2 database.
  • Knowledgeable in Standard Operating Procedures as it relates to the Quality Department.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to read and understand Fabrication blue prints and Machining blue prints including Basic GD&T (as applicable).
  • Tasks require walking, bending, climbing, lifting, and standing.
  • Tasks require the use of small hand tools, instruments, and materials 60% of the time.
  • Tasks require visual inspection and reading measurement tools and instruments.
  • Tasks require flexibility and adaptability at a rapid pace.
  • Must be able to work extended hours when required.

  • Knowledgeable in ISO Standards and objectives to maintain and reinforce as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining high customer product acceptance by ensuring shipped products adhere to specifications at all phases, including inspecting incoming raw materials, purchased parts, outside service parts, in-process and final product acceptance, first article inspections, and dock audits.
  • Maintaining process acceptance by auditing production processes at all phases, including 1st pc process, Frequency process, Setup process, Routing Audits, 5S Audits, and Safety Audits.
  • Training machine operators in product inspection based on prints or support documentation.
  • Performing inspection and processing of Returned Goods (RAs), including data entry, internal/external communications, and reporting, as well as sorting product.
  • Participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Utilizing Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and concepts for process improvements and actively participating in LSS programs.
  • Maintaining and recording accurate quality documentation in company data collection systems, including first piece sheets, certified operator documentation, and in-process records.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.
