About The Position

The Quality Technician for the Warewash Manufacturing business unit in Troy, Ohio performs inspection functions necessary to verify first piece, when required, and subsequent periodic inspection of machined and/or fabricated parts, bench work and assembly operations to conform to Engineering standards. Must fully understand and be able to work from detailed drawings to check parts for conformance to finish and dimensional specifications after set up of various machine tools. Lay out parts on surface plate as necessary; proficient in using various measuring tools: vernier height gauges, surface gauges, dial indicators, micrometers or other precision measuring instruments appropriate to specific case. Connect to test stands and perform standard test runs to ensure proper operation of mechanisms, fitting of various parts within prescribed tolerances, etc. Check motors, bearings, etc. for noise. Visually inspect finish of assembled unit for scratches, chips, dents or other defects. Verify completion of units per customer orders and material lists. Inform department supervisor of questionable machines. Inspect bench work, as operations are completed check finish, tolerances, limits and other features. Observe handling of parts and materials for correct racking or stacking procedures to prevent damage to surfaces. Prepare all inspection reports and other data as required being proficient in use of Microsoft 365 with emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Inspect all incoming production material from vendors to assure compliance to Engineering specifications, and ability to use special testing equipment such as hardness testers, plating thickness tester, motor vibrations and electrical specifications testers, special testing equipment, etc. Complete all inspection details, and maintain records as required. Prepare rejection notices on all defective material (not meeting Engineering specifications), providing all necessary data for management disposition and tagging all defective material awaiting such disposition. Understand and work with quality control data and information to verify manufacturing processes are being followed on manufacturing process sheets. Lead in supporting of the Quality Management System (QMS) including performing assigned audits to ensure conformity to processes and procedures. Continuous periods of sitting, standing, walking, stooping in course of role. Work in hot/cold manufacturing environment. High voltage welding is performed and must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including but not all inclusive, safety shoes and glasses and hearing protection when needed.
