About The Position

The Quality Technician – Shipping position is responsible for inspecting shipments, ensuring all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed correctly, and that shipments are tracked and delivered on time. This role operates in a fast-paced environment with frequent lifting of parts and requires a strong attention to detail. Employees will be trained on multiple stations, with the first day being observational. Located at the Bendix Distribution Center (BDC).

Requirements

  • Must be able to maintain good attendance, including working overtime as required.

  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.

  • Must be able to consistently meet production, safety, and quality standards.

  • Must be willing to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must obtain a forklift license.
  • Must pass a drug and background check, as well as a physical.
  • Must take a 90-minute assessment on concepts such as converting fractions to decimals and inches to centimeters, adding and subtracting, identifying micrometers and gauges, and measuring parts within a tolerance.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect pallet/pallet boxes filled with finished goods in the shipping area.
  • Ensure all paperwork is placed with the order and that necessary labels are printed and applied to the pallet/pallet box.
  • Cut pallet boxes to the size of the order in preparation for shipment.
  • Inspect orders and labels for boxes in the small package packing area.
  • Utilize a computer to input information regarding items shipped.
  • Handle up to 450-500 boxes per shift, with boxes weighing up to 70+ pounds.
  • Lift boxes from a 28-inch height to pallets on floor lifts.
  • Comply with customer requirements, including shipping instructions and packaging requirements.
  • Participate in a daily pre-work stretching program.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
