About The Position

Kapco Metal Stamping is seeking an experienced Quality Technician I on 1st shift at their Grafton, WI facility. This role involves ensuring the quality of metal components manufactured by Kapco, a company known for its investment in technology and its strong family culture. The technician will play a key role in maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), calibrating equipment, interpreting technical documents, and contributing to new product development. Requirements

  • Experienced Quality Technician I
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, control plans and engineering specifications.
  • Experience maintaining QMS system for control of Non-conforming materials and Corrective and Preventive Actions.
  • Experience calibrating measurement and test equipment and fixtures.
  • Ability to investigate and document 8D formatted corrective actions.
  • Ability to complete inspections reports and bubble drawings.
  • Ability to update control plans as necessary.
  • Ability to perform internal audits.
  • Ability to stop production when quality issues are detected.
  • Ability to promote and participate on improvement teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in metal stamping, fabrication, welding, or machining industry.

Responsibilities

  • Fill in as a Quality Inspector as needed.
  • Evaluate parts and processes and report non-conformances.
  • Maintain the QMS system for control of Non-conforming materials and Corrective and Preventive Actions.
  • Calibrate measurement and test equipment and fixtures.
  • Interpret blueprints, control plans and engineering specifications.
  • Maintain documentation and records.
  • Train others in Quality as needed.
  • Correspond regarding vendor and customer issues.
  • Involved in New Product Development. Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning and assemble Product Part Approval Process documentation for new product submissions.
  • Investigate and document 8D formatted corrective actions.
  • Complete inspections reports and bubble drawings.
  • Update control plans as necessary.
  • Perform internal audits as assigned and stop production when quality issues are detected.
  • Promote and participate on improvement teams, as needed.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
