About The Position

Responsible for supporting the manufacturing process via troubleshooting, diagnostic, and corrective steps in the repair of parts, components, and systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of the operating principles of refrigeration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot at subsystem and system level using identifiable problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and system diagrams.
  • Ability to understand and interpret basic written technical information.
  • Working knowledge of inspection/troubleshooting techniques and instruments.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Hands on experience using measurement devices, i.e., calipers, micrometer, height gage, etc.
  • Ability to replace components; wire circuits; repair simple electronic equipment; and take test readings using common instruments.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in electronics or related field and two years of mechanical/electrical repair experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes malfunctions or deviations and assists with the appropriate corrective actions.
  • Removes and installs parts; disassembles and assembles components; and tests and adjusts assemblies with minimal supervision. Tests and verifies correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
  • Provides feedback to production/assembly regarding repair issues to prevent further malfunction/defects in the assembly process. Ensures that established quality standards are upheld.
  • Performs repairs in a timely manner to ensure that units are put back online for additional assembly and final inspection.
  • Completes all necessary documentation and follows up as required in a timely, orderly manner.
  • Responsible for a variety of tasks involving inspecting, evaluating, and repairing units from the field. The evaluation is to determine if the unit should be repaired, donated, or destroyed.
  • May design, build, and repair a broad variety of basic mechanical and/or electrical specialty equipment, jigs, and fixtures.
  • May perform preventive maintenance responsibilities for assigned departmental equipment/machinery to include corrective maintenance as required.
  • May evaluate, repair, and/or dispose of returned damaged goods from the field.
  • Provides training for line inspectors.
  • Acts as backup to line inspectors.
  • Performs process audits to ensure established procedures are being maintained.
