About The Position

Nucor Insulated Panel Group is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Quality Technician. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, the ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. This role involves preparing product samples for audit review, conducting production quality checks, and inspecting incoming material quality of steel, plastics, chemicals, and other items as needed. The technician will also be responsible for reading and understanding part prints, measuring accordingly, understanding, using, and calibrating measurement instruments, and operating power equipment such as saws and drills. Other tasks may be assigned by the Supervisor and Team Lead.

Requirements

Experience using Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn in-house software products.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Be able to lift from varying heights and carry up to 50 pounds.
Must have experience using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
Must understand fractions, decimals, and standard metric units of measurement.
Incumbent must be available for overtime and travel for training and auditing.

Responsibilities

Prepares product samples for audit review.
Responsible for production quality checks.
Inspect incoming material quality of steel, plastics, chemicals, and other items as needed.
Read and understand part prints and measure accordingly.
Understand, use, and calibrate measurement instruments.
Operate power equipment (Saws, drills, etc.).
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor and Team Lead.
