About The Position

This position is for a Quality Technician on 2nd Shift. The role acts as a liaison between the Quality and Manufacturing groups, auditing, enforcing, and training associates on all aspects of the quality policy. The ideal candidate should be self-directed and work well with minimal supervision. The company is a global enterprise supplying engineered components, systems, and services to the automotive industry, known for producing automotive structural parts and constructing vehicles like the Ford GT.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two (2) years' general or specific experience in this field.
  • Must be able to read, interpret and understand blue prints (GD&T).
  • General understanding & knowledge of production processes and how parts are produced, and how characteristics impact downstream customers.
  • Ability to make quality decisions on production parts when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive industry experience PREFERRED.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between the Quality and Manufacturing groups.
  • Audit, enforce and train other associates on all aspects of the quality policy.
  • Read, interpret and understand blueprints (GD&T).
  • Hold non-conforming materials and sort through them as necessary.
  • File and maintain in-process inspection reports.
  • Assist Quality Engineers in performing capability studies, gauge R&R’s and analyzing process variances.
  • Assist with running any extra testing required as part of the validation process after quarantine.
  • Problem solve with operations to determine root cause of material on hold and make appropriate changes.
  • Perform control plan audits and assist with updating control plans.
  • Perform Process/Product and LPA audits.
  • Issue gauges to production as necessary.
  • Assist with or answer 8D assignments on customer rejects.
  • Update ICPs as needed for various programs.
  • Generate new form/work instructions/check-sheets.
  • Assist the Quality Manager and Quality Engineer as assigned and with PPAPs.
  • Fill in for Quality Technician and Weld Analyst positions when needed.
  • Make quality decisions on production parts when necessary.
  • Assist with organization and set-up of outside sort or rework activities (Vendor).
  • Assist and maintain internal sort criteria and instructions.
  • Collect and input production information into the Quality database.
