About The Position

Sustainability is central to their business. This role is on-site and requires a 5-day work week. The Quality Technician will be a core member of the MDI team, participating in JDI/9Steps/GEMBA walks and reporting quality status. They will investigate and determine root causes and corrective actions for mechanical, electrical, braze, and weld issues. The role involves generating Quality Alerts, cross-training on multiple chiller lines, and working collaboratively within quality, manufacturing, and engineering teams. Responsibilities also include responding to Field Quality Issues (FQAs) with immediate containment, performing customer containment sorts/audits (indoors and outdoors), and utilizing various computer programs such as Windchill, Apriso, Oracle, MDP, and Excel. The technician will also support MRB (Material Review Board) and perform repairs when possible, maintain spare parts, and review/improve Apriso OMS Work Instructions. Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and training others as necessary are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand wiring schematics and drawings.
  • Familiarity with quality measurement tools, including dimensional and electrical measuring equipment.
  • Good manual dexterity and experience with hand tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and Basic understanding of electrical laws
  • Basic understanding of refrigeration cycle
  • Good communication skills, customer first attitude, share information and coach others.
  • Good with computers and the Windows operating environment
  • Must be willing to work all shifts and flex to satisfy customer demand.
  • Some overtime will be required.

  • 2-year technical degree or relevant experience (EOL test) a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • APRISO ANDON timely responses and completions.
  • MDI core team member: JDI/9Steps/GEMBA walks/Report Quality status
  • Investigate, Root Cause/Corrective Actions – Mechanical, Electrical, Braze, Weld issues
  • Generate Quality Alerts displaying Good vs Bad product
  • Cross train / learn / support multiple chiller lines
  • Work in a team environment within quality, manufacturing, engineering
  • Respond to Field issues (FQAs) with immediate containment
  • Perform indoor/outdoor customer containment sorts / audits regardless of minor weather
  • Must be computer savvy, multitask, phone, laptop-email/teams/texts/andons
  • MRB support and repair when possible, using hand tools, maintain spare parts
  • Utilize programs: Windchill, Apriso, Oracle, MDP, Excel
  • Quality Questions based on FCAT/FCOD options, key operations
  • Review and improve Apriso OMS Work Instructions with Mfg Eng support
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area.
  • Train others as necessary to build quality products and support customers
