About The Position

The Quality Technician is directly responsible for daily activities related to non-conforming material investigation and control, calibration, and corrective/preventative action. This role facilitates Material Review Board (MRB) activity, including investigation and measurement of suspected non-conforming material using calibrated devices. Under the guidance of the Quality Engineer II / Senior Quality Engineer and the Quality Director, the technician supports new product introduction by ensuring First Article requirements are met and ensures compliance to calibration activities.

Requirements

  • Associates’ Degree in Engineering or Technology discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 and AS9100 quality standards.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques, SPC, FAI, PPAP.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing / Visual Factory / Continuous Improvement Tools.
  • Must possess solid analytical skills in defining problems, collection data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Nadcap Special Processes experience preferred.
  • CMM/Laser scanning experience.
  • GD&T certification preferred.
  • ASQ CQI or CQE preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts inspection of suspected non-conforming material and provides reports/evaluation for disposition.
  • Supports and leads investigations, documents results.
  • Prepares concession/deviation reports for provision to customers.
  • Develops and implements control processes and programs in conjunction with engineering and manufacturing personnel, ensuring critical to quality characteristics are defined and implemented in the manufacturing processes.
  • Monitors and oversees the effectiveness of the hot inspection program, ensuring sampling and tools are appropriate for key characteristics.
  • Conducts dimensional evaluation and prepares first article inspection documentation.
  • Ensures the calibration program is implemented and facilitated in alignment with industry expectations, and that records are available per requirements.
  • Completes calibration activities.
  • Coordinates 3rd party calibration vendors.
  • Performs Measurement System Analysis / GR&R.
  • Performs other Quality related duties as assigned.
