About The Position

Fisher Barton is seeking a Quality Technician who is analytical, resourceful, a collaborative problem-solver, and an excellent communicator with a keen eye for detail. This role offers an opportunity for growth within a company that is constantly adding new technologies to improve productivity, quality, and safety. The Quality Technician will perform inspections, prepare and maintain documentation, reports, and test data. They will also ensure ISO documentation and compliance, engage in customer support and the corrective action process, identify and drive quality improvement opportunities, and maintain calibration of testing and measurement equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 years’ experience as a quality technician in manufacturing; or successful performance as a Fisher Barton Quality Technician 2 team member
  • Proficient in all Quality Technician 3 skills, as defined on the site Training Matrix
  • Working knowledge of statistical quality tools (trend charts, pareto diagrams, SPC, histograms, Cpk/Ppk, etc.)
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, with working knowledge of GD&T
  • Able to perform standardized quality checks using measurement tools and equipment (Gages, Calipers, CMM etc.)
  • Able to maintain calibrated test equipment
  • Able to prepare test data and document results
  • Able to develop measurement strategies
  • Experience with APQP processes and PPAP Report Development, strong knowledge programming software
  • Experience identifying areas for quality improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with ISO, ITAR or TS quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Fisher Barton Safety and Quality procedures and regulations and business code of ethics
  • Assist production associates in the measurement of product and sample retention
  • Perform inspection and testing activities relating to the manufactured product
  • Using CMM for quality inspections and programming
  • Perform part measurement and layout activities through full documentation and reporting results
  • Read and interpret blueprints using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing specifications
  • Support and/or recording test data
  • Perform shop floor audits to assure product, process, and system conformance
  • Ensure gages and measuring equipment are calibrated
  • Maintain our quality lab and equipment
  • Develop, maintain, and submit accurate and reliable information and documentation
  • Assure compliance to the Fisher Barton Quality Management System (QMS), process, customer and product standards and specifications
  • Assist production associates in measuring product, first off’s, last off’s, and sample retention
  • Manage APQP (In particular) PPAP documentation and ensure its accuracy and completion
  • Review control plans and ensuring they are correct, accurate, updated and stored appropriately
  • Participate in non-conforming materials NCM process
  • Determine root cause to quality problems
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement project
