About The Position

The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting product quality and process compliance throughout the manufacturing operation. This role works closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and quality teams to identify quality concerns, implement corrective actions, conduct inspections and audits, and help ensure products meet established standards and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Familiarity with standard measurement and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and complex procedures.
  • Excellent recordkeeping and documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, employees, and management.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree (A.A.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to identify root causes and implement corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Utilize measurement and testing equipment to perform capability studies and document process performance as required.
  • Develop and maintain work-in-process and finished goods quality audits, ensuring audits reflect current customer concerns.
  • Recommend improvements to processes, products, and documentation to support continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with work instructions, process audits, and quality checklists.
  • Develop and maintain visual aids that depict acceptable and unacceptable parts and materials.
  • Quarantine non-compliant material, oversee disposition activities, and determine cost and responsibility.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve non-compliant material issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage documentation related to production inspections, calibration activities, and capability studies as defined in quality plans.
  • Provide training to production employees on audits, inspections, and calibration requirements.
  • Understand and support supplier and customer testing requirements and quality plans.
  • Understand Engineering Change Order (ECO) and Temporary Deviation processes.
  • Inspect parts prior to shipment to verify conformance to standards.
  • Remediate defects when possible and assist in identifying root causes and corrective actions when non-conforming parts are discovered.
