About The Position

The 2nd shift Quality Tech at Oxford Forge, Inc. is a skilled professional responsible for performing advanced quality control inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure products meet stringent quality standards and customer specifications. This role involves complex problem-solving, process improvement, and mentoring junior quality personnel.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Quality Assurance, Engineering Technology) preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, quality control role, preferably in a metal fabrication, forging, or machining environment.
Expert-level proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with a wide range of precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.
Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and industry-specific quality standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with quality management software.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with all levels of the organization.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.

ASQ certifications (e.g., CQT, CQI) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Conduct advanced inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods using a variety of precision measuring instruments (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Perform complex dimensional layouts and verify product conformity to engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T interpretation.
Execute and interpret results from various destructive and non-destructive testing methods (e.g., hardness testing, tensile testing, visual inspection for defects).
Identify, document, and investigate non-conformance issues, including root cause analysis and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality control procedures, work instructions, and quality management system (QMS) documentation (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
Conduct internal audits and support external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Train and mentor Quality Techs on inspection techniques, equipment operation, and quality procedures.
Analyze quality data, generate reports, and present findings to engineering and production teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve product quality and process efficiency.
Operate and program CMM and other automated inspection equipment.
Participate in FMEA and PPAP processes as required.
