About The Position
The Quality Technician at Barchemy is a very important position. As our Quality Technician, your objective is to monitor critical quality attributes of finished products and ingredients for a confectionary plant according to the Quality systems manual, record and report on a timely manner results from analysis, inspections and scoring sessions.
Requirements
- At least 2-3 years laboratory/quality assurance in a food manufacturing environment
- BS in Food Science, Nutrition or similar
- Basic computer skills or better in Microsoft
- Organized, detail oriented, able to handle repetitive tasks quickly and accurately
- Must be proactive, responsible, self – motivated and self-managed
Nice To Haves
- HACCP and/or HARPC certified preferred
Responsibilities
- Follow Standard Operation Procedure and samples raw ingredient and finish product
- Maintain Quality Assurance Manual
- Document results and pertinent observations after each analysis, score session or inspection
- Retrieve and send samples as directed for analytical and microbiological testing
- Ensure plant cleanliness and compliance with use of allergen testing swabs, environmental and ATP swabs
- Isolate and place nonconforming products or ingredients on hold and document hold by entering data on Hold Log and circulating information to Operations and Quality
- Responsible for food safety and quality
