About The Position

The Quality Assurance Technician supports the company’s quality systems by performing inspections, documenting results, and assisting with problem‑solving and continuous improvement activities. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. This role is classified as non‑exempt under California law and is eligible for overtime in accordance with state and federal wage‑and‑hour regulations.

  • Supports documentation and resolution of nonconforming materials and process discrepancies.
  • Communicates effectively with the Quality Manager regarding methods, quality issues, and problem‑solving activities.
  • Prepares clear, concise, and accurate reports of inspections, audits, test results, job‑site visits, and delivered goods.
  • Assists in developing and implementing objectives, plans, and priorities to support timely completion of quality‑control goals.
  • Interprets CAD drawings and verifies conformance to company specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Able to read and use measuring devices such as tape measures, protractors, and micrometers.
  • Able to move materials and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Able to walk and stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
  • Able to work in varying temperatures, including high heat or cold.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Minitab or other statistical software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials, in‑process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Conduct tests on finished products to verify performance within defined specifications.
  • Document inspection results accurately and enter data into the quality database.
  • Communicate deviations promptly to operators and supervisors to support timely corrective action.
  • Reject out‑of‑specification product and place questionable product on hold for management review.
  • Provide clear work instructions and quality guidance to production personnel.
  • Support line supervision with quality‑related line calls.
  • Participate in internal audits and assist in developing corrective action plans.
  • Assist in creating and revising standard operating procedures and quality documentation.
  • Participate in problem‑solving activities, including root‑cause analysis and corrective action validation.
  • Participate in kaizen events and other quality or process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Perform other job-related duties consistent with training, experience, and business needs.
