About The Position

LifeSpice Ingredients, a fast-growing, entrepreneurial, international food company has an opening for a Quality Technician in Lowell, IN. The Quality Technician will ensure that LifeSpice proprietary blends meet all quality and regulatory requirements including chemical, physical, and microbiological specifications.

Requirements

• 1-2+ years of experience in quality or the food industry
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and effective communication skills
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
• High school diploma required
• Ability to participate in daily sensory panels, with no food allergies or taste or smell limitations
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods in a lab setting with exposure to various food ingredients and allergens

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) a plus
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the Quality & Regulatory Team ensuring daily tasks are completed on time and in full, including:
• entering results and creating quality documentation for finished seasoning blends including Certificates of Analysis (COA)
• managing hold and release of finished seasonings and raw materials
• communicating with multiple internal and external departments
• traveling to blending partner for first time production runs
• assessing finished seasoning blends for quality acceptability to assure product meets specifications
• facilitating sensory evaluation
• assisting with product quality investigations
• maintaining organization of sample retain area
