Regency/Sierra Plastics – El Paso Job Description Title: Quality Technician Reports To: Quality Assurance Manger Status: Full Time/Hourly (40 hrs/week; additional hours as needed to support organization and individual goals) Job Requirements Ability to perform repetitive tasks High School diploma or equivalent Motor coordination, manual & finger dexterity Bilingual- English and Spanish Job Summary To inspect plastic production parts for compliance, in order to meet established quality standards. Essential Job Functions Prepare P.P.A.P. sample packages. Prepare revalidation packages, and complete all necessary paperwork. Contribute a A.P.Q.P in developments of FMEA, control plan flow charts, profile sheets, X & R charts, etc. Also responsible to have PSW approval from customer. Perform machine variance studies on specified equipment, capability studies, GP-12 and Run at Rates as required/necessary. Verify material Certifications are correct and if not received contact supplier to get, also to assign internal lot numbers. Maintain sample storage area, and Conduct dock audits as needed. Assure that receiving procedures are being followed and that specifications and color matches are being adhered to. Perform designated finished goods inspections to designated products. Verify effectiveness of corrective actions taken to address internal and external non-conformances. Ensure segregation and requalification on in-house inventory and returned material based on a customer complaint. Maintain and update QA files, also prepare files for tool transfers to other plants. Maintain General housekeeping. Perusing 5S’s. Other duties as assigned. Communications - Frequently required to exchange information and ask for assistance. Vision - 20/20 vision, or corrected vision, good depth perception. Hearing - Good hearing is necessary to respond to calls from fellow employees. Environmental Conditions - Highly repetitive shift work in a fast paced environment. Temperatures can reach over 100 degrees. Noise levels average around 90 decibels. Dust and occasional fumes may be encountered. Machinery/Tools/Equipment - Calipers, utility knives, tape guns, box staplers, rulers, pin gages, hardness gages, puller meters, check fixtures, industrial pallet jacks, and grinders.
