The Quality Technician will maintain a positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as a unified goal. This role involves utilizing the NCR process and 8D approach to build quality into processes, including internally auditing daily work activities to identify non-conformances, expeditiously initiating, managing, and closing out NCRs, and escalating advanced problems to QA Engineers. The technician will measure the cost of poor quality and the number of customer complaints, manage external complaints, and handle RGAs. They will transfer NCR corrective actions to FMEA critical controls and add those controls to the Groups control plan. Additionally, the role ensures associates are competently trained and practicing proper operating procedures, identifies opportunities to build quality into products and processes, liaises with engineering, production, safety, and vendors for product compliance, and engages in improvements to drive down the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ). The technician will also assist in developing documented SOPs and deliver training for new quality improvements, controlling feedback from first and second-party MS audits.
