About The Position

This role is responsible for facilitating the parts quality process throughout the organization. In partnership with internal business units, this role ensures the precision and inspection of parts moving into the facility. This role supports Generac Quality Management Systems, drives data collection, reporting and analysis. It partners with leaders in the daily operation of an area with responsibility to improve quality systems, processes, and performance.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years in quality
  • Moderate problem solving skills
  • Leads team communication on quality metrics and project countermeasures; ability to train others
  • Intermediate knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, Quality Control Plans, mistake proofing, NMR, ECR, SPC, ISO processes
  • CMM programming knowledge
  • Maintain professional rapport with peers and support groups
  • Communicate issues and countermeasures to Supervisor
  • Perform reading, writing, and math functions
  • Commitment to continuous learning and quality standards

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years in quality or Certified Quality Technician preferred
  • Advanced problem solving, including cross-functional issues
  • Leads multiple teams or departments; mentors and trains others
  • Advanced knowledge of all QC tools, ISO systems, and process improvement methodologies; design audits and complex corrective actions

Responsibilities

  • Conducts process and product audits to ensure team members are following standardized operating procedures and adhering to all quality standards.
  • Implements resolutions from basic to moderately complex problems.
  • Exercises judgement within procedures and practices in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at solutions.
  • Implements process improvements to continuously improve quality.
  • Cross train in multiple departments or stations and flex to other similar departments based on business necessity.
  • Assist with NPI/ECN changes and other duties as assigned by Quality Supervisor or Manager
  • Suggest and implement improvements of existing equipment, designs, and/or processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisors depending on the level and complexity.
  • Able to conduct standardized problem-solving process and aid/support implementing corrective actions to resolve design, supplier, or production quality issues.
  • Supports facility in gage/tool calibration and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R).
  • Trains others in quality tool usage to implement process improvements to continuously improve quality.
