About The Position

The Quality Technician II will plan, lead, and perform technical activities. The Quality Technician II will grow to be considered a Subject Matter Expert in their assigned position and be responsible for training, improvement, and independent problem solving in their area. The Quality Technician II will regularly interface with Quality Engineering, Production Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Test as needed.

Requirements

  • A.A.S. or A.S. in a technical discipline OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in aerospace/defense, electronics contract manufacturing, and/or high precision machining.
  • Experience using computers for data entry, item lookups, etc. Experience with MS Word and Excel.
  • Basic understanding of material flow in a manufacturing environment and importance of measuring tool calibration.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements as it pertains to manufacturing and quality operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with calibration programs and knowledge of ISO17025 preferred.
  • AS9100 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Find ways to continuously improve the processes in their area.
  • Assist in establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving department process documentation.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing principles throughout the organization as it pertains to quality assurance methodology.
  • Foster a collaborative and interactive team environment that supports both a learning and teaching culture. Maintain an effective working relationship with others in the company.
  • Follow established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and in corporate directives for the safe performance of daily activities. Proactively suggest improvements and elevate issues to management.
  • Assist with the calibration program. Make sure all tools that need to be in the program are included, that they get sent out and returned on the correct frequency, the needed data is obtained, and the quality records are kept. Help locate missing tools.
  • Interface with calibration suppliers to get tools sent out, returned, and repaired if necessary.
  • Start NCRs and shepherd the determination of risk/actions when OOT tools are received.
  • Operate x-ray equipment.
  • Be involved in audits of the calibration system.
  • Inspect mechanical and electrical components as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
