About The Position

This role is responsible for inspecting and testing products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. The technician will perform various types of testing, record data using SPC methods, document nonconformances, and assist in corrective actions. Calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment are also key duties, along with operating precision measuring instruments. The position may involve leading or supporting Material Review Board (MRB) activities, containment actions, and sorting projects, as well as conducting quality audits.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of three years of manufacturing or engineering experience.
  • Proficient with precision inspection tools and quality measurement equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to evaluate inspection results, determine product conformity, and make sound quality decisions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, procedures, and communicate findings.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or technical certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test products throughout manufacturing to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Perform dimensional, attribute, mechanical, performance, destructive, and non-destructive testing as required.
  • Record inspection and test data while utilizing Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods when applicable.
  • Prepare inspection reports, document nonconformances, and assist production teams in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Calibrate and maintain inspection tools, gauges, and measurement equipment.
  • Operate precision measuring equipment including CMMs, profilometers, hardness testers, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, protractors, and other inspection instruments.
  • Lead or support Material Review Board (MRB) activities, containment actions, and internal/external sorting projects.
  • Conduct and lead quality audits, including ISO and in-process product audits.
  • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
