About The Position

OKSI is seeking a Quality Technician I to provide ongoing production floor quality coverage as part of our AS9100D compliance activities, QMS modernization, and preparation for a second facility. This is a hands-on, full-time role for someone who wants to build a career in aerospace and defense quality, combining daily floor inspection duties with growing ownership of quality system processes. You'll work directly with the Quality team to maintain floor-level quality coverage while supporting system-level quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Completion of an NDT, quality technology, or related technical program, or equivalent hands-on inspection experience
  • Basic understanding of inspection methods and measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Comfortable working in a production/manufacturing environment, including standing, floor movement, and handling hardware
  • Organized and detail-oriented with reliable written recordkeeping habits
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Dependable and punctual, able to maintain consistent daily routines
  • Comfortable switching between physical floor tasks and administrative documentation work

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AS9100D, ISO 9001, or other quality management system standards
  • Prior experience with ERP or QMS software; Odoo experience is a plus
  • Exposure to government property management or FAR/DFARS compliance
  • Background in finite element analysis (FEA), optomechanical design, thermal management, or lightweight structures
  • US Person status is required.
  • Candidates with an active security clearance or the ability to obtain one are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Verify incoming parts and materials against purchase orders and acceptance criteria
  • Physically count and reconcile inventory on the production floor
  • Support manufacturing orders by pulling, verifying, and staging component kits
  • Perform visual and dimensional checks at defined production milestones
  • Own formatting, revision control, and review of quality procedures and work instructions
  • Assist with physical counts and recordkeeping for customer-furnished and government-owned property
  • Confirm outgoing product meets labeling, packaging, and shipping documentation requirements
  • Conduct daily Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention walks and log findings in Odoo
  • Track equipment calibration certificates and flag items coming due for recalibration
  • Verify that supplier quality certifications on file are current and compliant
  • Document nonconformances, enter records into Odoo, and drive disposition follow-up to closure
  • Participate in internal quality audits and support corrective action follow-up
  • Track and report floor-level quality metrics, including inspection throughput, NCR trends, and calibration compliance, to the Quality Manager
