About The Position

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting parts used for Mikron customer projects, including Customer Service parts and customer components. This role involves performing inspections to meet project timelines, participating in material disposition discussions, and providing inspection data for root cause analysis. The technician will conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections, and will also be responsible for drafting standard operating procedures for inspection processes and equipment. Ensuring inspection equipment is calibrated and performing ad hoc duties as needed are also key aspects of the position. The role requires a customer focus, a commitment to personal and departmental growth, maintaining confidentiality, valuing teamwork, strengthening accountability, building effective teams, motivating and developing others, managing conflict, leading with ethics, and demonstrating strong attention to detail, flexibility, organization, and the ability to handle diverse responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have a valid state Driver license
  • Associates degree in a technical discipline
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings and sketches
  • Working knowledge of inspection equipment and tools
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office tools
  • Familiar with ERP software
  • Ability to adapt to priority changes
  • Ability to communicate in an open, clear, precise, and effective manner with customers, peers, and management
  • Must have initiative to learn and demonstrate positive behavior toward teamwork
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of fabricated parts to meet project timeline expectations
  • Participate in material disposition discussions
  • Provide inspection result data to assist with root cause analysis
  • Perform incoming inspection on customer components, in-process inspections on manufacturing parts, and final inspection on assemblies for Clean Assembly
  • Draft standard operating procedures for inspecting fabricated parts and the use of inspection equipment
  • Ensure applicable inspection equipment is within calibration
  • Perform ad hoc duties as needed
