The Quality Technician - Chemist role is vital in affirming the production of nutritionally superior pet food through advanced physical and analytical testing of materials and finished products. This role will own the efficiency of quality systems in the Bowling Green facility, ensuring every product that leaves the doors helps build a future to smile about. Requirements

  • BS degree in Chemistry, Food Science or related field. OR Bachelor's degree with 3+ years' experience in analytical laboratory in food, consumer product or pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including night shifts and/or weekends, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work from heights.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical or wet chemistry laboratory.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and procedures.
  • Computer skills including email, spreadsheets, presentations and database management.
  • Good technical, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience using ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills including troubleshooting and root cause investigations.
  • Knowledge of analytical method validation, data integrity and statistical analysis.
  • Previous experience using LC, MS and/or tandem LC-MS or LC-MS/MS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine physical and chemical analysis on raw materials and finished products, including moisture, fat, protein, and mineral testing, to ensure compliance with global laboratory standards.
  • Be responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sophisticated laboratory instrumentation and quality systems to ensure data accuracy and operational uptime.
  • Lead internal and external audits of Quality Systems, executing corrective action planning (CAPA) and remediation to maintain food safety and regulatory standards.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency in micro and quality issues, using data to support audit requests and providing analytical results for new product projects.
  • Conduct technical training for plant personnel on laboratory procedures and safety protocols, fostering a culture of quality across the entire supply chain.
