This position is eligible for a $500 sign on bonus (to be received upon hire) and $1,000 stay on bonus (to be received after 6 months of employment). Join our team as a Quality Technician and play a key role in driving excellence! You'll troubleshoot quality issues, calibrate testing equipment, create inspection plans, and support audits. Keeping the returns area clean and maintaining a low number of customer complaints are two top priorities in our brand-new, 400,000 sq. ft. distribution facility. Our Northwest Indiana facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology designed to optimize efficiency and reduce environmental impact. As one of our global shipping hubs, this location plays a critical role in serving customers around the world.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in quality role, with experience running root cause analysis and customer service investigations.
  • Quality Knowledge: Familiarity with basic quality principles, standards, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Statistics Knowledge: Understanding of key statistical concepts including control charts, variation types, process capability, and Gage R&R.
  • Calibration Knowledge: Experience using and calibrating a variety of measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs) and maintaining M&TE records.
  • Testing Experience: Skilled in blueprint reading (including GD&T), inspection methods, and sampling plans.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient with data entry, Microsoft Office, and Minitab.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs up to 4 hours a day.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Inventory: Run reports and investigate inventory for broken or out of date items.
  • Handle Returns: Work with our customer experience team on RMA returns.
  • Customer Complaint Investigations: Collaborate with engineering and customer experience on investigation complaints.
  • Product Inspection: Perform inspections using test equipment per written instructions.
  • Nonconformance Handling: Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials following established procedures.
  • Inspection Planning: Maintain inspection forms, storyboards, and databases in collaboration with cross-functional teams, aligned with control plans and ECNs.
  • Quality Improvement: Clearly report quality issues, compile data for reports, join improvement teams, and identify areas for enhancement.
  • System Audits: Support internal quality audits, ensuring accurate documentation of details.
