About The Position

This role involves performing final inspections of finished goods to ensure compliance with order content and quality standards. The Quality Technician will track product non-conformities, report trend information, and assist in the containment of known non-conformities. The position also requires participation in root cause evaluation and problem-solving efforts for continuous improvement, as well as evaluating returned material for defect accountability. Daily tasks include maintaining a clean workstation, clarifying fabrication instructions, and providing assistance in other areas to support company and plant goals. The role also involves opening and updating RGA case files and communicating regularly with customer service and QA management. Special assignments may also be given.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma, GED, Technical/Trade School or equivalent experience.
  • Prior manufacturing work experience in quality inspection and using various hand tools such as a caliper, micrometer and tape measure.
  • Basic computer skills including: Outlook, MS Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with basic office equipment, including copier and scanner.
  • Ability to read and comprehend shop orders and working drawings written in English.
  • Must be able to read and interpret measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, scales).
  • Ability to complete basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers, fractions, decimals and metric system.
  • Must be able to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating charts and graphs preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing and customer relationship management systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and follow safety rules.
  • Complete an expected amount of work based on time studies in accordance with schedule.
  • Operate all necessary equipment in a proficient manner.
  • Perform final inspection of finished goods to guarantee compliance with order content and quality standards.
  • Track product non-conformities and report trend information to the Production Team Lead and operations management.
  • Assist in the containment of known non-conformities.
  • Participate in the root cause evaluation and problem solving efforts associated with continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate returned material for defect accountability.
  • Perform regular housekeeping of the work station assigned.
  • Identify unusual or uncommon fabrication instructions and clarify with Production Team Lead.
  • Provide assistance as required in other areas as needed to support company and plant goals.
  • Open RGA case files and update notes as the case unfolds.
  • Communicate regularly with customer service and QA management.
  • Complete any additional special assignments as assigned.
