About The Position

Inspects materials, products, and processes for conformance to specifications. This role involves examining materials for defects, comparing products to ensure assembly completion, verifying dimensions, and rejecting defective parts. The Quality Tech will also assist with monitoring quality, conducting audits, managing documentation, analyzing defects, maintaining the quality system, and writing work instructions. The position supports ENA core values and policies, assists other Quality Staff, performs weld certifications and etches, checks shipping racks, and utilizes various software and tools for record-keeping and communication.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to use callipers, plasma cutter, belt sanders, and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read and understanding product blueprints.
  • Understanding Gages.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Examine material or product for weld defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds.
  • Compare product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly.
  • Read and understand product blueprints.
  • Verify specified dimensions of product or material using gages.
  • Reject defective parts, and mark the type of defect on the part, container of parts, or inspection tag.
  • Assist with monitoring quality of product/processes, quality audits, document control/updating, analyzing/tracking defects, maintaining quality system, and writing work instructions.
  • Support and promote ENA core values, Environmental, Health and Safety Policy and Quality Policy.
  • Assist other Quality Staff.
  • Perform weld certifications.
  • Check shipping racks for damage, label damaged racks, and prepare them for return to customer for repairs.
  • Perform weld etches according to company weld standards.
  • Use PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Understand basic weld principles.
  • Communicate with programmers and production regarding any welding problems.
  • Work with chemicals.
  • Verify welding of all set-up parts and program changes.
  • Verify weld characteristics such as weld lengths.
  • Use Pax-It software and database to maintain accurate records of weld inspections.
  • Use SAP to look up customer call-offs.
  • Prepare Shipping Documents.
  • Pack for shipping.
  • Read drawings to verify parts are prepared correctly.
  • Pack and band shipping containers.
  • Prepare all parts for packing (labeling and foam covers).
