About The Position

The Quality Tech II - Inspector role at American Buildings Company in El Paso, IL, is responsible for ensuring the quality of completed fabricated and welded structural parts. Requirements

• Minimum of High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to achieve AWS CWI certification within 1 year.
• Ability to obtain and perform NDT (UT level I) certification within 2 years.
• Detailed Selection Criteria: Judgement/Decision Making, Dependability, Attention to Detail (including inspecting weld quality and adhering to NBG weld standards), Teamwork, Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work, Communication Skills, Initiative, Time Management.

Nice To Haves

• Prior knowledge/experience of structural line job functions.
• Current weld, CWI, and NTD certifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect completed fabricated and welded structural parts to ensure they have been properly assembled using tapes and other measuring devices.
• Perform routine inspections of manufactured products and verify packing accuracy across all departments at the facility.
• Maintain and update tool calibration and personnel weld certification logs.
• Track and investigate Quality Records (QSR’s and IQR’s).
• Lead quality initiatives and improvements within production processes.
• Uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Benefits

• Base Rate for this position is $31.97 - $47.23/ hour.
• Eligible for annual bonuses.
• Annual Return on Assests Bonus Percentage (ROA) (5 year average) = 20.7% of eligible earnings
• All Nucor teammates qualify for profit sharing.
• Annual Profit Sharing Bonus Percentage (5 year average) = 20.4% of eligible earnings
