About The Position

The Quality Team Leader in the Stamping Department is responsible for performing all QA auditor functions, conducting product qualification audits, and assisting with the training of associates on quality-related items. This role also serves as an internal process and system auditor, facilitates continuous improvement activities, and assists in the technical and operational training of quality auditors. The position involves monitoring inspection processes, coaching QA associates on quality management systems, and mentoring QA auditors while maintaining confidentiality. The team leader works with production, management, and other departments to ensure the containment of non-conforming material, problem-solving, and issue closure. Additionally, the role requires maintaining a clean work area, ensuring accurate paperwork, and accounting for rejected parts. The Quality Team Leader also functions as a quality management representative in the absence of a coordinator or manager.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent
2-5 years in a manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

TS/ISO 90001 working knowledge preferred
CMM and Datamyte experience preferred
Stamping and resistance welding experience preferred
Automotive industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

Perform all QA auditor functions and tasks.
Conduct product qualifications audits.
Assist with training of associates on all quality related items.
Serve as JSC internal process and system auditor.
Facilitate successful continuous improvement activities.
Assist in technical and operational training of existing and new quality auditors.
Monitor inspection processes and verify regular execution.
Coach QA associates daily on quality management systems goals and objectives.
Mentor and guide QA auditors to achieve best possible outcomes while keeping performance information confidential.
Work with production T/L and management to ensure containment of all non-conforming material.
Solve problems and overcome obstacles, involving production staff, die maintenance, maintenance, and management as needed, and follow up to ensure closure of issues.
Maintain daily housekeeping of work area to ensure a clean work environment and proper 5-S.
Ensure all daily paperwork is correct and all rejected parts are accounted for.
Function as quality management representative in the absence of a coordinator and/or manager.
